Nathaniel G. Lambright to Serve as Panelist at Conference Sponsored by the Labor and Employment Relations Association Chapters and Cornell’s Industrial and Labor Relations Program

Nathaniel G. Lambright, a Partner in the Labor Department of Blitman & King, has been selected to serve as a Panelist for the upcoming conference sponsored by the Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo Labor and Employment Relations Association chapters and Cornell’s Industrial and Labor Relations Program.  Nat will provide an employment law update at the all-day conference scheduled for October 14, 2011 at the Woodcliff Hotel in Fairport.

New York State to Investigate Nonprofits with Eye on Executive Compensation

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo recently announced that the State will be conducting investigations of nonprofit organizations, including hospitals and clinics, that receive Medicaid funding from the State. A New York State Not-for-Profit Entities Task Force will be created to audit the organizations with a focus on executive compensation levels.  The investigations are in response to reports of excessive salaries and compensation packages for executives of nonprofit organizations that depend on state Medicaid funding. Daniel E. Kornfeld and Ginger B. LaChapelle Appointed to ERISA Leadership Positions | Employment Law

Daniel E. Kornfeld and Ginger B. LaChapelle have been appointed Subcommittee Co-Chairs for the Employee Benefits Committee of the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section. Daniel has been appointed to the Subcommittee dealing with the interaction between collective bargaining and employee benefits. Ginger has been appointed to the Subcommittee dealing with the regulation of specialized employee benefit plans. Both Daniel and Ginger will contribute to editing portions of Employee Benefits Law, the nation’s leading treatise in the employee benefits area. Further, they plan to lead discussions at an ABA conference in February 2011 concerning recent developments related to their Subcommittees.
